damfest's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- it's the end of the world Went back to iTech this afternoon to ogle the merchandise. Had dinner with Dad at the Pump Haus, then took him over to show him the new, enormous 27" iMac. The new multi-touch mouse would have seemed more impressive if we were able to find a web page that required scrolling both up-down and left-right, but the browser window on the screen displayed nearly every web page we tried in full. The screen's that big. Afterwards we went to "2012", a movie that's so preposterous you have to check logic and reasoning at the door before taking your seat. So many tired clichés, so many eye-rolling one-liners. But hey, I'd be fooling absolutely no one if I said I went for any other reason than to see the world turn to shit. The literal collapse of Pasadena CA and the eruption of a supervolcano in Yellowstone National Park are two of the more awesome sights I've seen in the theaters this year. I'm torn. The film is dumb, but it's a lot of fun. I kinda endorse it, but on the condition that when it comes out on DVD I can skip to the earthquake and volcano scenes and never again have to watch anything else in the movie. Maybe the ash cloud scene in Las Vegas. But that's it. Also, directors: please cast John Cusack and Woody Harrelson together in more movies, please. Thank you. 10:58 p.m. - 2009-11-17 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
